02:36 am - Tommorow is just the beginning of dreams.

Tommorow is the 30th of Nov, but it's gonna be the start of my amazing december plans.

For tommorow, it's movie marathon with my cousin.
My sister's keeper.
Where got ghost.
500 days of summer.
( if we have the time for all 3, that is)

and a possible sleepover at her place or mine. I don't know. :)

And, of course quality time with my grandmother.

I want to blog about today but i'm really tired and I want to do a proper update because I want to remember these memories.
I'll do a proper entry tommorow, if i find the time.

I've been very high-strung lately, suddenly got a lot of things to do, like, i'm always out and about doing things.
I havent really bummed around at home after exams.
I better be careful. If not later I'll crash and burn and suffer from exhaustion, and--- depression.

Something I don't wish to repeat again.
it's pure agony.
and the tears are not worth it.

01:29 am - You are your best friend.

I have a lot of whimps and fancies.
Not a lot of my friends have the same whimps and fancies as me and it's not nice to impose certain "ideas" and "activities" to my friends.
I feel like an authoritarian.

So, i guess, what the heck, if i want to do silly stuff;
I shall do it myself.

The fun shall begin soon.
:)

08:44 pm - Passion.

I have always admired people who have already discovered their passions. Be it for music, dance, drama, art, etc.
And I always felt inadequate because I haven't found it.

But, I think I found it.
It's being around children and talking to them, and teaching.

And, I have my plans for post-exam and post-convocation.
Hope it works out.
My 2010 is all mapped out, and 2009 hasn't even ended.

I am very hopeful.

01:57 am - Jokes.

Some jokes on the Laugh page on BrightSparks magazine; some are really funny

‘X’ marks the spot

There was an engineer with an exceptional gift for fixing all things mechanical. After serving his company loyally for more than 30 years, he happily retired. Several years later, the company called him back to solve a tough problem they couldn’t handle. Reluctantly, he took up the challenge. After spending an entire day studying the huge contraption, he took a piece of chalk and marked an “X” on a particular component of the machine. “This is where your problem is,” he said.

Soon after the part was replaced and the machine worked perfectly again, the company received a bill of $50,000 from the engineer for his service. Astonished, they demanded an itemized account of his fee. The engineer responded coolly, “One chalk mark- $1. Knowing where to write it-$49,999”

Great Writer

There was once a young man who, in his youth, professed a desire to a be great writer. Asked to define “great”, he said “I want to write stuff that the whole world will read, stuff that people will react emotionally, stuff that will make them scream, cry and howl in desperation and anger!”

Today, he writes error messages for a certain software giant based in Washington.

School antics

Mom: Wake up, son. It’s time to go to school.
Son: But I don’t want to!
Mom: Give me 2 reasons why not.
Son: One, all the children hate me. Two, all the teachers hate me.
Mom: Those aren’t good reasons!
Son: Okay, YOU give me two good reasons why I should go.
Mom: One, you are 52 years old and should understand the importance of responsibilities. Two, you are the Principal!

NO “outside food” allowed (My favourite joke)

Two yuppies arrive at a pub and order a couple of rinks. They open their briefcases, take out a sandwich each, and begin to eat.

Seeing this, the bartender approaches them and says, angrily, “Excuse me, but you’re not allowed to eat your own sandwiches here!”

At this, the young man look at each other quizzically, shrug, and exchange their sandwiches.

12:05 am - Bliss.

If this is happiness, then I want it to last forever.

Today was great. First day after the exams. I woke up at 1pm.:)
Then I made my way to my aunt's place to see my grandma. I wanted to see my grandma because yesterday my cousin smsed my father and told him that the maid ran away from the house; left the door unlocked and left my bed-ridden grandma alone at home.
-____-.
but no worries, the maid agency found her early this morning apparently "passed out" ( well, she could be sleeping) at one of the nearby blocks.
Having a maid is so complicating.
So anyways, almost everyone was at home, my uncle wasn't working too, and my cousin had the day off, and her husband was working night shift. So i managed to talk to them and hang out with my grandma. It's been a long while since I had a proper conversation with my cousin (especially now that she is married). so that was nice.
Then, I made my way to vivo 'cos I had plans to meet Nur and my bro's gf, Amalina.

It was such a great night.
First, we went to DAISO.

omg, can I rant about DAISO? h
okay, for the uninitiated, DAISO is this shop from Japan that sells EVERYTHING at $2. it sells EVERYTHING. believe you me, from cushion covers, to garden utensils, kitchen utensils, stickers, cushion covers-- you name it, they have it.
So it was soooooooo exciting. Amalina and I were like going crazy over all the stuff.
soo cute can.
I bought a couple of things.
1) A cute lunch box that has a picture of a bird and daises and it has french words written all over it
2) Heart-shaped containers
3) You know those clip hangers that you use to dry your underwear, it's circular...I found a version of it in a shape of bear's head, so it's like many how cute.
4) Cloth tape with designs , completely amazing
5) Colourful paper cups ( for my upcoming picnic(s)!!)
6) Ballons (for my upcoming picnic(s)!!! and special project)
7) Stochtape & holder.

yayysss. How can you not love Daiso?
I wanted to buy this bubble blower that was in a shape of an ice cream, but it's kinda ex. so didn't get it.

After that, we had dinner at Barcelos( a place that sells fantastic grilled chicken).
They talked about Korean pop stuff, bands, series.
I couldn't really relate to it, so i just stoned.
[ Oh yeah, I didn't explain why I met with Nur & Amalina when both of them didn't know each other. Since, I was meeting Nur, and both of them are big Korean fans, I decided it would be nice if I intro-ed them cos Nur said she didnt have friends who were into korean stuff, as in those who were as crazy as her]
So we also talked about stuff, we talked about a lot of stuff, can't remember.
Ohh, I remember one incident, the guy beside us was squeezing chili sauce out of the tube, then because of the air pressure, it let out a fart-like sound.
Then Amalina and I immediately burst out laughing, it was really quite loud and funny
Then i think they guy knew we were laughing and he said "Sorry" [ in a funny tone kinda way, not in an apologetic way].
hahahaa.
Then, we discussed about our Korean plans. so exciting know!
have to wait for 5 months.
Imagine visiting a garden with lots of roses, greek statues and fountains, and cheap and nice clothes.
And we are thinking of visiting this island too, that has endless trees lined, and Amalina said that the staff there arrange the leaves in a heart-shape around the island.
and they have like country-style bicycles ( with the baskets and all) to ride on.
sooo excited.
:D:D

Oh ya, when i spotted Amalina in the crowded while waiting for her to arrive, I waved at her to get her attention.
Then there was this ang moh in front of her, then he thought i was waving and smiling at him.
hahaha.
then he actually smiled back and walked towards me, but i focused my attention on Amalina.
he funny lah, i think he paiseh.
maybe he thought i was his friend. hehe.

Then, we went to the rooftop garden.
There this huge-ass christmas tree, lighted- up and the sea-breeze is like suppperrrr nice.
Then I wanted to take a pic of us together, so as usual, I stretched out my hand and self-took photos of us.
Then as I was taking the pic, a group of ang moh tourists walked past us and looked at us.
They must have been thinking, "these poor girls, need to take picture of themselves without any one to help them"
and some ppl really cannot stand seeing ppl doing self-shots[ refer to the underground incident at Orchard]
so this middle-aged ang moh from the group went us to us and said "You want me to push?"
I said "okay", and passed him the camera
Then he took the camera and prepared to capture the shot, He must have thought to himself "Too near"
so he paced back a few steps.
and then he took forever to press button too.
then after he took the pic,
he went up to me , and i thought he would just pass me the camera and go off.
but he said, "C'est Bien?"
Then for a while, i was processing what that meant.
and i looked at the picture and said "C'est Bien! Merci"

Well, C'est Bien means It is Good, but if it used as a question, then it means Is it good? I guess
wahh soo proud of myself. I could understand him and reply him back in french.
even tho it's like negligible lah the use of french. but still.. so cool lah.

:D

Omg, i am bursting with excitement.

And, has anyone watched Panormal Activity? I want to watch!!

And to all muslims reading my blog, Selamat Hari Raya Aidiladha yaaa.

01:13 am - Perfect.

They say women who are ovulating look their best; their skin lightens, lips thickens, hip-waist ratio decreases, hair becomes softer.

And it's true.:D
it's good being a lady.
I really look my best durig this period.
And my period is late!! hmph.

And, during this period, women will go after Alpha Males, with very masculine features.
so yeah.

06:52 pm - Yipee

For those of my friends who are still having their exams, hang in there okay.:)
You will reach the end soon.

I want to write down my plans for dec because i have so many things to do and it's going to be fun! fun! fun! :
but, i shall keep it a secret for now lest i risk being killed by friends who are still having their exams.

For this week it's meeting up with Nur, and my bro's gf ( yes), now she's like my girlfriend.
Friday it's Hari Raya Haji.
Saturday it's going to my fave place in Singapore with my darlings.
And Sunday it's mendaki volunteer at Omni Theatre ( hope i can watch free movie leh. haha) and meeting up with SHARIZA!!!
that's my weekends plans.
yayyyyyyyyyyyyyssssss.

And, this is just a prelude to the amazing december plans.

So I finally finished my 2nd and last paper this semester.
Evolutionary Psychology.
Hopefully I get at least a B-, so i can declare it as a minor.:D
Even though I had doubts taking the module and the first half of the module was really boring with all the theories but the second-half of the module was mind blowing.
And, I feel im swaying more towards the Darwinian framework.
but well, im firmly grounded in both frameworks.
so anyways, now, I like to ask people "What's your opinion on evolution?"
:)
great convo debate.
I asked my parents once over dinner and I played the devil's advocate and shot down their opinions, for fun.
I'm so mean right?
Conversations about evolution never reach a resolution.

And I am gonna miss the prof who looks like Bill Pullman, so handsome lah he. hehehe.
And he's damn smart ( thanks to my prowress in googling)
:D
Like every other psychology module, i learnt a lot.

And, I finally collected that darn Internship cert.:D
and I got 2 certs * winks*

I feel that i have a tendency to give up easily, but i shouldn't...because i know if i push harder, i can surprise myself even.
i think this applies to everyone.
So don't give up easily k.
:D:D

And, I can't wait to watch The Last House on the Left.
'cos my psych prof put the poster of it on the lecture on rape :O
hahaha.
so i decided to google lah, curious what.
and apparently, it has a very interesting plot.
It's about a grp of guys who injure and rape this girl and she managed to escape by submerging herself in the water and swim away. The guys shot her ( the bullet went thro the water) and thought she was dead.
So, to clean up their act, they go to the girl's house to "Clean up" the evidence and on the pretense that they are lost and their car has broken down, they stay in the girl's house (with her father and mother).
Her parents thought she hadn't returned yet.

Wait, this gets interesting.
Then, the girl survives...and she manages to crawl (?) back to her house and tells her father the whole incident.

And, usually like u will think of the criminal abusing and torchering the victim.
But, in this story, the father torchers the guys IN HIS OWN HOME!!!
so counter-intuitive right?
I saw the trailer and there was this scene where the father places the guy's head in a microwave....
what the....
yeah.

can't wait to watch it tonight. it's directed by Wes Craven ( he is a genius when it comes to horror). and it was just released in singapore in may.
soo yays.
my psych prof knows the best movies. he even watched YEAR ZERO. can u imagine? YEAR ZERO???haha.

:)
now u guys feel like watching right? go watch lah!
.

06:29 pm - Because life would be dull without music.

This is a playlist of my favourite songs at the moment.
I spot a common theme- Party and LCC music.lol.

I have refined tastes in music- not.
heeeeeee.

</lj-embed>

YAYS!
I hope you enjoy these songs.
I shall blast these songs and dance in my room till dawn breaks.
:)

Tonight is the night, I fall in love with myself.....:P

BECAUSE EXAMS ARE OVERRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

10:35 pm - I will be waiting for you, in time.

Due to a series of fortunate events,

I miss you.
I hope you miss me too, when you are 384023403294039ft up in the air-- fixing pipes.
hahaha.

okay back. I want to blog, but i think i should spend more time studying, considering I spent the last 2 nights, in the wee hrs of the morning watching movies, Drag me to Hell and Taken respectively.
Best.
:)
Even though i would like to watch another today, i should refrain. My paper is on Wednesday morning for heaven's sake. I can watch movies after my paper.
so i'll just settle for ghost stories today.

Today, i went to school just to hand up a few pieces of paper.
and of course, accompany poor little mschoots. ( don't kill me).
then I went into one of the seminar rooms to study.
soo amazing; my concentration level shot up 300%!!! no kidding.
because 1) I was alone ( thus, no one to disturb or talk midway when im bored studying) 2) no laptop (major distraction) 3) clear, big table ( :) , cos my study table has a million of other stuff, teddy bears, flowers, pin-up, and other stuff which are not related to studying)

and heck, i even managed to treat myself to some MrBean pancakes, hot soya drink and soya ice-cream.
wheeeee

:)
so i feel very accomplished today.
and trying to finish up one more chapter b4 i go to bed. hopefully i can.
yes, i can.

And, so exciting, I might be going to the land of kimchis, han boks, plastic surgery AFTER completing the last exam of my uni life...like right after i hand up the paper, im gg to run to the airport. haha.
plans plans.

focus, Afiah.

11:14 pm - Fallen.
One of my favourite songs of 2004.

beautiful, painfully honest lyrics.

[Warning: If you are feeling sad, don't listen to this song]

Heaven bent to take my hand
And lead me through the fire
Be the long awaited answer
To a long and painful fight

Truth be told I've tried my best
But somewhere along the way
I got caught up in all there was to offer
And the cost was so much more than I could bear

Though I've tried, I've fallen...
I have sunk so low
I have messed up
Better I should know
So don't come round here
And tell me I told you so...

We all begin with good intent
Love was raw and young
We believed that we could change ourselves
The past could be undone
But we carry on our backs the burden
Time always reveals
The lonely light of morning
The wound that would not heal
It's the bitter taste of losing everything
That I have held so dear.

I've fallen...
I have sunk so low
I have messed up
Better I should know
So don't come round here
And tell me I told you so...

Heaven bent to take my hand
Nowhere left to turn
I'm lost to those I thought were friends
To everyone I know
Oh they turned their heads embarassed
Pretend that they don't see
But it's one missed step
You'll slip before you know it
And there doesn't seem a way to be redeemed

Though I've tried, I've fallen...
I have sunk so low
I have messed up
Better I should know
So don't come round here
And tell me I told you so...
Enjoy.

I remember crying after listening to this song on the bus.
